Insight into London

London is mystical and magical and has so much to explore. It’s easy to see why so many people visit London. The country combines culture, experiences, and food in every way.

It’s worth it to visit London whether you go for a day, a week, or a month traveling solo or with a group. After you read my recent experiences,  you will have more ideas than you know what to do with to transform and travel in London.

Highlights from London, England Travels

I love to visit London. It’s one of the easiest and most direct flights from the US. It has amazing connections all around the world. What’s not to love from the culture, language, food and so much more?

Did you know London is home to over 40% green space, over 1.2 billion people travel on London Underground every year, and London was the first city in the world to reach a million people in 1811?

I’ve gotten to visit London more times than I can count. My travels to London started well before travel blogging was a thing, or Instagram even existed. My brother, Alex went to school in London to the University of Warwick. The first time my Mom and I visited we went to see him.

We did a double-decker tour in London the first time I visited in 2003, went on the London Eye, and visited Parliament. I highly recommend all three. A double-decker tour is a great way to see any city, especially for the first time and/or if you are short on time. I visited as well in 2009.

I went with my Mom before we flew to India for an Indian wedding for my friend Sundeep. We wanted to break up our flight times for the long journey. We spent the day exploring the museums in London, which are mostly free, and incredible.

Recently, I visited London in 2018 again. Each and every time I go, its I love taking the tube aka subway, walking the streets, and seeing the sites. The Tower of London and the surrounding culture and history is absolutely breathtaking. The history in London reminds us of our humanity.

This time, when I went to London, I knew I would be in the city for a day, and creating content and hosting the mastermind event the remainder of my time. I planned the highlights of the day in London somewhat in advance and adjusted as I went.

I stayed at an incredible Airbnb outside the city with a Russian family. It was right along the water about 30 min outside the center.

Before we get into the 5 Ways to Transform and Travel in London, I want to share some of my stories. I am sure there are some travelers, adventures, and bloggers here (or those that want to be). I believe it’s important to relate so you know that I understand a variety of perspectives and experiences.

My Experiences With Transforming + Traveling

In Cuba – With @light.travels @thesocialgirltraveler right in front of the Photography school that was in an old building. Photo credit – Preston Olsen – @weekendvoyagers.

I was born traveling. My parents conceived me in Bulgaria, born in Poland, and in a refugee camp in Italy by the time I was six months old. I immigrated with my parents to the United States when I was a year and a half. At that point, I had traveled to over four countries.

Since then, I have traveled to over 27 countries. This includes a solo trip across the Atlantic with my brother at the age of 11, solo trips before “travel blogger” existed, and creating over 4 retreats.

My experiences include scuba diving adventures in Jamaica, and hot air ballooning in Spain. I love to give back everywhere I go. We did this recently on our retreat in Cuba with a photography school. I love to transform + travel and help you create it too!

Since I am very passionate about transforming and traveling, I thought I would share 5 Ways to Transform and Travel in London.

Each and every time you are feeling you may need to have a new experience, come back and visit this post!

1. Plan Like a Boss and Play Like a Tourist

Set up an itinerary for highlights you want to see in London, England. This will get you excited before you go. A great idea would be to google Top 10 in London or hop on a doubledecker tour.

Even if you are traveling to another country, you may want to fly through London and have an extended layover that gives you time to explore! It’s fun to have an adventure along the way. Who wants to sit in an airport anyway?

For our bloggers and influencers, you could reach out with a press trip request to a hotel or experience to create content in London, England. I recommend you reach out with who you are, why your a great fit, and how their hotel or tourist attraction fits well with you and your brand too.

For the moms, you could play tourist with your kids around the city too! You will love Hyde Park or perhaps a spin around the London Eye? I got to go on it with my mom, brother, and sister in law years ago and loved it!

I am a big believer that there is more than enough time to make the best of the time you have. Whether, you get to visit London for a day, a week or a month, you will enjoy yourself.

Last time I visited London, I spent one day in London, England within the city specifically. Before I went, I thought about doing a doubledecker again as I was coming straight-off a transatlantic flight. I decided to tour the city by the London Underground (Subway) and see the sites.

I visited the Tower of London and Sky Garden.

When I went to visit Sky Garden (it’s literally a garden on the roof of a building), it was free. You simply have to reserve your time slot or visit their times that allow you to possibly get in. I recommend reserving. I wasn’t able to get in with the free reservation because I didn’t reserve.

I did get in by making a reservation at their restaurant on the roof – that was delicious too!

So, that’s another way in case you don’t make a reservation or get in with the popular time spots too!. I highly recommend a visit. What is more transformational than visiting London and visiting a garden in the sky?

You may see a short behind the scenes video too!

Ps. for a lot of my photos I use iPhone X. Right before this trip, I upgraded to a Canon EOSM100. I highly recommend it with the flip screen especially for photos and video when you are traveling alone.

I visited the Tower of London after leaving the garden. I took the London Underground to visit some street art. I grabbed a falafel and a gyro in between exploring near Big Ben.

My entire day ran from roughly 1 pm to 7 pm and I didn’t ever feel rushed or tired.

You can imagine how transformational this experience felt.

My One Day In London, England this time:

11 am – 3 pm:  Sky Garden and Restaurant

3 pm – 5 pm: Tower of London and exploring the streets of London

5-7 pm:: Street Art

I took public transportation the entire time. It was easy and safe. I flew in early that morning and decided to headed back to my Airbnb early as I was hosting an event the next day.

2. Stay at an Airbnb

Some of you may be avid hotel lovers and some of you may have stayed already at an Airbnb. I have now stayed in over 40 Airbnbs across the globe. For years, I was the typical hotel stayer including reaching Platinum with Hilton Hotels years ago when I used to travel over 70% as a Corporate Exec.

So, I completely relate to why you may want to stay in hotels. I stay in them sometimes now and collaborate with them as well. However, the reason I started choosing Airbnbs is I wanted to have unique experiences.  I wanted to create a community as well.

The stays have included entire homes, guest houses, and private rooms too. I’ve stayed in Airbnbs in the United States, across the globe including hosting our masterminds and retreats like the one day mastermind I hosted in London.

When you choose to stay at a hotel or Airbnb, my advice is the same. Look at the pictures and the reviews. If you have any questions at all, message your hosts.

For London specifically, my list of requirements for the Airbnb included:

  • Amazing views
  • Near the water
  • Great reviews
  • In London or
  • Public Transportation Access

I found the perfect Airbnb < 30 minutes outside London and the most incredible hosts – Maxim and his wife, Katrina! Immediately, when I saw the listing I knew it was perfect. The outdoor water wharf views were incredible and the reviews were amazing.

3. Content Creation

Are you a travel blogger or want to be? Do you love social media? How about influencer marketing? Have you created content while traveling? All of these skills will transform you from the inside out.

London is a great country to start content creation if you aren’t doing it already. What content would you love to create?

4. Explore a New Experience

Do you regularly travel with a group? Maybe you want to go solo next time?  Perhaps you always go solo? How about a trip with the family? The point is to explore a new experience of traveling. It’s important for our growth to try new things.

Think about what experience you want to have in London, England. Perhaps, you want what some solo time and some group time just like my experience. This is what I love to do best.

I don’t know about you but I’m what they call an ambivert. This means we are naturally introverted and love to be around people with great energy. I love being around people and I love reflecting on my own. Think about what’s best for you.

5. Events in London

Think about attending or hosting an event in London.  Maybe you love the idea that I hosted a mastermind in London. You can too! Let yourself dream about what is possible.

The day before I left London, we hosted our mastermind 1-day event with over 7 of us Yes, I took leaps of faith before. Yes, I faced the unknown. Yes, I trusted the process, You can too. Imagine the transformation with this one leap of faith.

This included hands-on workshops on:

  • How Passion + Purpose = Profits
  • Smoothie Bowls and Tasty Treats
  • Meal and Workout Plans
  • 6 Pack of Wealth and Activities
  • Building Your Brand + Digital Tools
  • Interactive Tech Platform

Yes, we even had a baby in our group!

I got to team up with incredible boss babes like Silja Litvin, a psychologist, mental wellness advocate, and app creator. I connected with another incredible woman, Michelle Lowbridge, to host a money activity too.

Maybe you decide to attend an event in London first, or anywhere in the world. I love to create a life and business I love and help you create it.

What events would you love to attend? How could you create events? Who would love for you to start hosting events locally, nationally, or internationally? This is an incredible way to transform and travel.

Don’t think for a second I didn’t have fears come up. I choose to fight for freedom.
